GIS Day! Workshop: Introduction to QGIS

Description:

This introductory session will focus on the the fundamental concepts of skills needed to begin using Geographic Information Systems software for the exploration and analysis of spatial data using the open source GIS package QGIS.

Who Should Attend:

No GIS experience is necessary. This is a beginner oriented workshop. Those with GIS experience who are interested in becoming familiar with QGIS might also find it beneficial. 

Technology requirements:

Please bring a laptop with the latest or long term release of QGIS installed (download). QGIS runs on Windows, Mac & Linux machines. You may check out laptops from the Library but you should allow time to download the software ahead of the workshop.

About the Data Cooperative:

The Data Cooperative is Library-based hub of data support services and resources for the UA faculty, staff, and student community. We aim to help individuals build capacity and foster interdisciplinary connections to solve research problems relating to data management, data science, visualization, and geospatial applications.
