Womxn/Trans/Femme Maker Lab: Visible Mending Techniques

Womxn/Trans/Femme Maker Lab: Visible Mending Techniques

Please join us for Womxn Trans Femme Maker Labs, which are open and inclusive events designed to center the creative and critical work of self-identified women, trans, and femme makers, artists, scientists, engineers, designers, and learners within the UofA and Tucson community. Each monthly workshop is unique and materials and tools will be provided to registered participants via project kits; attendees are welcome to bring a project of their own to work on and get help during this time as well.

This month, CATalyst Studios will provide attendees with a small sewing kit, scraps of fabric, embroidery thread, and other tools to assist in the visible mending of worn clothing. There will be a series of mini tutorials during the workshop, including how to attach/replace buttons, how to patch torn jeans and how to darn a sock. Those in attendance will be able to ask questions about the kit and share your creations with the group.

Please visit the UAL Main Library the week of this event and show your registration email to receive your kit.

Upon registration, you will receive Zoom login information for the virtual WTF Maker Lab.
