Trailblazer: Stewart L. Udall’s Environmental Leadership and Legacy Exhibit
Stewart Lee Udall played a significant role in the transformation of U.S. conservation and environmental initiatives.
Together with his brother, Morris, Stewart constructed the foundation for numerous environmental initiatives and legislation and creating national historic landmarks, parks, and shorelines.
He also tirelessly worked for integration in local Tucson schools, the Department of the Interior, and the National Park Service, and securing the rights of indigenous people in monumental court cases brought against the U.S. government.
University Libraries Special Collections offers a broad array of Stewart's legacy through selected photographs, correspondence, and memorabilia featured in this exhibit. Watch the video to learn more about the Stewart L. Udall Papers.
The exhibit is free and open to the public during Special Collections hours.
