Introduction to Japanese Stab Binding
This workshop features an adapted version of Japanese stab binding, or fukuro toshi—an easy and beautiful bookbinding method that can be used to create journals, sketchbooks, and more. During the workshop, you will create your own booklet from repurposed catalog cards or drawing paper and learn how to design binding patterns. All supplies are provided, and although no experience is required, the workshop will involve working with sharp tools such as awls and sewing needles.
