GIS Week 2020: CSW & Women in Geospatial
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is really more than just making maps! Join us to discuss and learn how GIS skills might be applicable in your field of study or at work. Geospatial technologies are becoming ubiquitous across disciplines and industries including tracking disease, location analytics, using drones, and building software apps. They are in data science, journalism, policy, and much more.
Open to anyone on campus who uses or teaches GIS or is just curious!
During this discussion hear from Laura Bookman, Stephanie Springer, Martha Gomez-Sapiens, and Victoria Sisk. Come share your experience and network during the social sciences, natural sciences, and general/new-to-GIS breakout room sessions where you can meet other GIS users from across many colleges and departments. Let’s lay the foundation for a strong interdisciplinary community in geospatial technology and GIS.
